Disability Awareness and Sensitivity Training

 

The Center for Accessible Living (CALKY) is a nonprofit organization specializing in disability rights and resources. We offer Disability Awareness and Sensitivity Training designed to help organizations build more inclusive, respectful, and accessible environments for employees, clients, and the community.

This training increases awareness and equips participants with practical knowledge on how to respectfully and effectively interact with individuals who have both visible and invisible disabilities. Sessions are led by experienced disability advocates and are grounded in real-world perspectives and lived experience.

 

Training Focus Areas

Participants will gain insight and practical tools related to:

  • Understanding different types of disabilities and appropriate accommodations

  • Effective communication strategies and respectful language considerations

  • Addressing unconscious bias and promoting a culture of inclusion

  • Real-world scenarios to build confidence and preparedness

Training fees typically range from $300 to $600, depending on factors such as company size, number of participants, and training format.

Discounts are available for nonprofit organizations and local businesses.
