Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Program

The Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Program helps individuals with mental health conditions and or substance use disorders find and maintain competitive, integrated employment. IPS is an evidence-based model that focuses on rapid job placement, individualized support, and long-term success in the workforce.

Participants work one-on-one with an Employment Specialist who helps them explore their interests, strengths, and career goals. Support does not end once employment is obtained. Ongoing assistance is provided to help individuals succeed on the job and advance in their chosen careers.

The IPS Program follows eight core principles that guide services and ensure a person-centered approach. These principles emphasize consumer choice, competitive employment, integration with treatment services, personalized benefits counseling, and continuous support.

Our goal is to support individuals in achieving meaningful employment that promotes independence, recovery, and improved quality of life.

IPS Core Principles
The IPS Program is guided by eight evidence-based principles:

  • Competitive employment is the goal

  • Zero exclusion based on readiness, symptoms, or substance use

  • Integration of employment and treatment services

  • Attention to consumer preferences

  • Personalized benefits counseling

  • Rapid job search

  • Systematic job development

  • Ongoing, individualized support
