CAL Ice-Cream Social
Live Healthy Workshop & Fitness Classes – Murray
Special Olympics & the Center for Accessible Living bring to you a Live Healthy Workshop and fitness classes for adults with disabilities.
The workshop will take place at the Calloway County Public Library:
July 21 – 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
July 22 – 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
July 28 – 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
July 29 – 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Fitness classes will be at the Murray-Calloway Co. Hospital Center for Health and Wellness each Saturday – 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM beginning Aug. 5.
Bring a partner/mentor to join in the fun. Exercise is always more fun with a partner. Participants are asked to have a partner so that you can help each other with goal setting, transportation, and staying fit throughout the week.
Peer Support Groups in Louisville
Women’s Peer Support Group
Group meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the every month. Contact Beverly Alford for more information.
YES! (Young Empowered Self Advocates)
This group meets the fourth Thursday of the month in the evening at CAL Louisville. Yes! is for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities ages 16-26. We work on life skills such as speaking up for one’s self (self-advocacy), communication and relationships, responsibility, working, health, resources in the community, and more. Build Your Future Workshops
A series of personal development workshops open to the community, but designed for youth. Times and locations will be announced on the Events Page. Contact Amy Jones for more information.
CAL Gives Back 2017 – Home of the Innocents Donation Drive June 5th- July 28th
The Home of the Innocents is a nonprofit organization offering residential and community-based services for children and teens facing crisis for 135 years. The CAL community is currently collecting items for the children at the Home of the Innocents.
